Khaki E-19 evacuation backpack – light-colored and rugged
The khaki on this version of the E-19 is a light, sandy brown – in tactical gear, this shade is also called tan. Tropical uniforms and expedition gear have long come in similar colors.
Light fabric heats up less in the sun than dark fabric, so in summer, at the campground or on a hike, the contents of the backpack don’t get hot as quickly. Dust and sand are barely visible on it after a whole day on the trail, too.
Khaki goes with earth-tone clothing and with gear in a darker, warm coyote brown. The backpack has a rugged outdoor feel, yet it looks more low-key than camo.

Does dirt show on the khaki backpack?
Dust and dried mud barely show on khaki, so the backpack stays clean-looking for a long time on the road. Darker stains, such as oil or wet soil, are more noticeable. Most fresh stains come off with a damp cloth.
Does the khaki backpack heat up less than the black one?
Light fabric reflects more sunlight than dark fabric, so it heats up less in direct sun. Still, don’t leave the backpack behind a car window for long on a hot day – high temperatures damage the medications and dressings in the first aid kit.
