Black E-19 evacuation backpack – discreet in the city and in the car
Black is the most understated version of the E-19. The backpack has MOLLE webbing and a tactical cut, but in black it looks less military than in green or camo and doesn’t give away that there’s an emergency kit inside. You can wear it to work, keep it in the trunk or leave it in the hallway by the front door.
Black goes with most jackets and everyday clothes, so the backpack doesn’t clash with the rest of your outfit. Mud marks and dark stains show up less on it than on the lighter versions, so it keeps looking neat for longer.

Does the black backpack heat up in the sun?
Yes, dark fabric heats up faster than light fabric. Don’t leave the backpack behind a car window for long on a hot day – high temperatures damage the radio’s rechargeable battery, the batteries and the contents of the first aid kit. In the car, keep it in the trunk or under a seat, out of direct sunlight, and in summer check the batteries and the radio’s charge more often.
Does dirt show on the black backpack?
Dark stains and mud are barely visible on it. Light dust, pet hair and white road salt marks, on the other hand, stand out more on black. Fresh dirt usually wipes off with a damp cloth.
